Polish agriculture depends largely on rain. The time and area diversified water resources of our country are not enough for mass irrigation of crops that may be needed in a changing climate. If we do not take effective action, we may run out of food produced domestically.
Prof. dr hab. Kazimierz Banasik, prof. dr hab. Tomasz Okruszko, prof. dr hab. Edward Pierzgalski and dr hab. Mikołaj Piniewski from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and prof. Zbigniew Kundzewicz Honorary Doctor from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences was invited to join the group of Water Alert experts. It includes nine reports detailing key issues such as: water in spatial planning, integrated approaches to water management, water management in strategic development programming documents, and the reduction of the risk of floods and droughts.
