Visit of His Majesty King Frederick X of Denmark
On 1 February, the Warsaw University of Life Sciences will have the honour to host His Majesty King Frederick X of Denmark. This is the monarch’s first foreign visit.
King Frederick X will come to SGGW accompanied by Danish Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Jacob Jensen and a delegation of Danish entrepreneurs from the Agri-food, Biogas and Energy sectors. Poland will be represented by Adam Nowak, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Polish entrepreneurs.
Purpose of visit
The aim of the visit is to strengthen cooperation between Poland and Denmark in the field of reducing carbon dioxide emissions from agricultural production, while increasing energy efficiency in agriculture.
Ministers and entrepreneurs will visit the SGGW Obory-Wilanów Experimental Farm. Delegations will see a biogas plant, an outpatient clinic and a delivery room for cows. They will take part in sessions on biogas production and carbon reduction in livestock production.
The Obory-Wilanów Experimental Farm is an important research and educational centre of SGGW. The 1,500-acre farm specializes in milk production, with a dairy cattle herd of 800 head. The annual milk production accounts for 4 million litres. In the future, the Centre for Ecological Education of Renewable Energy Sources will be established in the Experimental Plant Obory-Wilanów. The solutions introduced there, e. g. biogas plant, will be a source of practical knowledge for the academic community. The Centre will become a support for entrepreneurs who will gain access to innovative technologies.
After the visit to the Experimental Plant Obory-Wilanów, delegations will go to the Crystal Hall on the Old Campus of SGGW, where a panel session on Environmentally Friendly Agriculture and Biogas – transformation towards zero-emission food production will take place. The meeting will be attended by His Majesty King Frederick X of Denmark.
