University authorities
The highest legislative and opinion body of the University is the Academic Senate. The rector, vice-rectors and deans of faculties are members of the Senate by reason of their duties. The remaining members shall be elected for a term of four years by all groups of the academic community. The President of the Senate is the Rector.
The most important internal legal act regulating the functioning of the University is the Statute of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences
SGGW also applies the principles of the Code of Good Practice in Higher Education developed by the Foundations of Rectors of Poland and adopted by the Conferences of Rectors of Academic Schools of Poland (April 26, 2007).
The academic authorities of the University are elected by the electoral college. Their term of office shall be four years and may be extended for a further four years. At the head of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences is the Rector, his work is assisted by vice-rectors:
The Senate selects committees (collegiate opinion-forming and advisory bodies) which cooperate directly with the SGGW authorities.
The administration of the University is headed by the CHANCELLOR. It is the responsibility of m.in. management of the Financial and Material Resources of the University, supervision of investments and technical condition of facilities, as well as management of administrative staff of the School.
