The success of the NAUKA / SCIENCE SGGW channel
More than a thousand lectures and documentaries popularising scientific achievements of SGGW researchers, more than 11,000 subscribers and 2 million views of the NAUKA / SCIENCE SGGW YouTube channel.
Science / Science SGGW reflects the need to popularise science and has tripled the number of subscribers during the last twelve months.
Science / Science SGGW was created three years ago, during the pandemic period, initially as a tool to help students access lectures and exercises. The channel has already become very popular among students and lecturers in its first year.
Science / Science SGGW mainly focuses on the latest scientific achievements and reports the university’s students’ involvement in research conducted at individual institutes, research centres and departments. The SGGW TV team talks about science at SGGW through documentaries, news stories and live streaming of educational events. Science / Science SGGW is a source of expertise in many disciplines.
Courses in chemistry, mathematics or physics published on the platform help SGGW students and are appreciated by students from other academic centres and secondary school students.
The videos we publish on the YouTube channel include regular communication from the shooting. We know that a good shot makes for a good post. We use photos to communicate on social media – we give substantive and visually attractive content. We infiltrate the personalised information bubbles of our audience and feed them the dose of knowledge they can find on their newsfeed.
However, we know we fight for attention, interest and engagement with thousands of other communicators, so we pay particular attention to the content we publish on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. This is why we make sure that our profiles are not a bulletin board – we successfully deliver social media communication built on dialogues and relations.
The content provided on our profiles varies as much as the research topics pursued at SGGW are varied; besides communicating the latest scientific discoveries of our researchers, one can also find light-hearted, engaging content on our profiles. This encourages our community to interact with our posts and thus be in touch with the SGGW brand.
All the material produced by the SGGW TV team and published not only on the Nauka SGGW platform, but also on our other two official YouTube channels, i.e., the SGGW Wszechnica Żywieniowa and the SGGW main channel, are provided mainly by SGGW researchers, and students.
How do we produce content that promotes science?
