SGGW will support the reconstruction of the Saski Palace
Warsaw University of Life Sciences will support the reconstruction of the Saski Palace, the Brühl Palace and the tenement house at ul. Królewska in Warsaw. Prof. dr hab. Michał Zasada, Rector of SGGW and Jan Kowalski and Robert Bernisz, the Presidents of the Management Board of the Saski Palace company, have signed a letter of intent on cooperation.
Our university conducts activities covering issues of ecology, urban environment protection, arboriculture and urban space development. The company and the university declared their will to cooperate, with particular emphasis on the SGGW support in terms of efficient and reliable implementation of the investment, including research activities, some artistic and scientific events, and cooperation with the SGGW staff of the given disciplines.
“For years, Warsaw University of Life Sciences has been conducting extensive scientific research contributing to the global increase in the importance of Polish science, including urban space development. The collaboration in restoring the historic urban fabric, implemented in the immediate vicinity of one of the most important city gardens, is a chance to create a valuable, well-organized space for Varsovians, and tourists visiting the capital city” said Professor Zasada.
Mr. Jan Kowalski also expressed his hope for fruitful cooperation with SGGW: “We are very pleased with the willingness to cooperate and support from the largest Polish universities, and recognized research and development centers, such as Warsaw University of Life Sciences. I am convinced that the involvement of high-class specialists, scientists, and researchers will contribute to the best possible implementation of investments in terms of the reconstruction of the Saski Palace, Brühl Palace and tenement house at ul. Królewska to be carried out with respect for the Polish cultural and scientific heritage ”.
SGGW was also represented by prof. dr hab. Kazimierz Tomala, Vice-rector for Development, and dr Władysław Skarżyński, Chancellor.
