SGGW welcomed foreign students during Welcome Day
Crystal Hall SGGW filled with students from around the world.
On Saturday, 7 October, a large number of international students who had just started their studies at SGGW in the winter semester 2023/24 gathered in the Crystal Hall for Welcome Day. The event was attended by students from exchange programmes as well as first-year students from English majors such as Veterinary Medicine, Biotechnology, Food Science – Technology and Nutrition, Organic Agriculture and Food Production, Informatics and Econometrics, Finance and Accounting, and Management.
Participants were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, dr hab. Marta Mendel, prof. SGGW, who spoke about the values of the university and encouraged students to help and support each other.
During the event, our foreign students had the opportunity to get to know our university better – the WePoint team, the University Student Council and the Erasmus Student Network SGGW presented themselves at the meeting. Students got practical information about studying at SGGW, formalities related to coming to Poland, as well as public transportation. ESN representatives talked about Poland and its culture and conducted an engaging quiz on the subject, introducing foreign colleagues to the Polish cultural context. The second part of the event included a Campus Tour, during which students visited the Rector’s Office, WePoint, the Main Library and SGGW sports facilities.
The event was organized by WePoint and the International Relations Office, in cooperation with Student Council and ESN.
