SGGW signed a contract for the construction of an Innovative Centre for Nutritional Science
On 27 March 2024, the Rector of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), prof. dr hab. Michał Zasada signed a contract with the ERBUD company to construct the Innovative Centre for Nutritional Science. Scientists from SGGW will research nutrition and its impact on health and educate society on the importance of a healthy diet.
ERBUD has 18 months to complete the facility. The contract was concluded for a total gross amount of PLN 115.4 million.
The SGGW Innovative Centre for Nutritional Science is a project implemented by the Institute of Human Nutrition Sciences. The facility has been designed as a laboratory and didactic building with technical facilities, associated infrastructure, and communication routes. The total area of the finished building is expected to be around 16,500 sq m, consisting of four levels above ground and one underground. The building itself is intended to include teaching rooms, laboratories, workshops, and a conference room with backup facilities. The SGGW Innovative Centre for Nutritional Sciences, as a leading research, teaching, and innovation institution, will follow a holistic approach to human nutrition science.
The Centre, not only will develop research whose results will find application in solving nutrition and health problems affecting Polish society, but it will also comprehensively educate professionals specializing in human nutrition, dietetics, health care, and food design that meets the highest quality and safety standards. It will allow the higher education system to increase the qualifications of specialists working on strategic topics. The key task of the center will be to improve the health situation of various population groups in Poland by reducing the scale of diseases arising from improper diet.
