The Operational Programme for Fisheries and Sea
The Operational Programme for Fisheries and Sea ran from 2014 to 2020 (PO RYBY 2014-2020) and is the national instrument for the implementation of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF), part of the European Structural and Investment Funds
Under the 2014-2020 financial perspective, Poland has been allocated more than €531 million from the EMFF, which together with a contribution from the national budget (around €179 million) amounts to more than €710 million.
PO RYBY 2014-2020 was approved by the European Commission by Decision C(2015) 7386 of 22 October 2015. 6 priorities and technical assistance.
The overall objective of Priority 1 is to provide sustainability of resources and to increase the viability of the marine and inland fishing sector.
The general objective of Priority 2 is to achieve and maintain Poland’s leading position in the European Union in the production of fish from inland aquaculture.
The Warsaw University of Life Sciences is a beneficiary of the support under the afore called Priority II, Action 2.1: Priority II. Promote environmentally sustainable, innovative, resource-efficient, competitive aquaculture based on knowledge for more information.
The general objective of Priority 3 is to strengthen the effectiveness of the fisheries control system and to improve the collection of fisheries data for the implementation of the Common Fisheries Policy.
The general objective of Priority 4 is to support the development of fisheries-dependent areas.
The general objective of Priority 5 is to increase the competitiveness of the Polish fisheries and aquaculture processing sector.
The general objective of Priority 6 is to support the establishment of a maritime management system and to achieve and maintain good ecological status of the marine environment, in particular as regards the biodiversity of marine protected areas.

The Managing Authority has transferred part of its tasks related to the implementation of PO RYBY 2014-2020 to intermediate bodies (IP): the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture (ARiMR) and regional governments (SW). ARiMR as IP carries out the tasks of the IS in the areas of priorities I-III, V-VI and technical assistance PO PIS 2014-2020.
