Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme
The Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme shall finance infrastructure projects of national or international importance. The support can be used in two ways: actively as an implementer or as participant in projects, or passively as a user of infrastructure created through funding from the European Funds. Who can apply for a grant?
The Infrastructure and Environment Programme finances a variety of projects. Depending on the specificities of the type of support, the type of entities that can benefit from it is determined. The following groups are eligible for support:
- Local government units,
- Undertakings pursuing public objectives,
- Public administration,
- Public services other than administration,
- Health care institutions,
- Cultural, scientific and educational institutions,
- Large companies,
- Small and medium-sized enterprises,
- Social organisations and religious associations.
Restrictions may relate to competence and experience or to the area of activity.

Managing Authority
The managing authority of the POIIŚ is the minister responsible for regional development (currently the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy).

Intermediate Body
The responsibilities of the Intermediate Body shall be determined by agreement with the Managing Authority. These are tasks related to the implementation of the part of the programme in which the institution specialises. In the case of POIiŚ, the following are the following: Centre for Eu Transport Projects, Ministry of Climate, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
Implementing Institution
The Intermediate Body may delegate to the Implementing Institution tasks in the field of direct handling of the granting of support or control over project implementation. For example, the Implementing Institution may be used by entities subordinate to the ministry or agencies for the development of entrepreneurship or regional development.
In the case of POIiŚ, the following are the implementing institutions: National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, Oil and Gas Institute -State Research Institute, Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice, Center for Coordination of Environmental Projects.
