“Reunion 2023”: 10th Anniversary of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Graduation
The first ceremony of the inauguration of the academic year at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine took place in October 2007. At that time, the group of English-speaking students consisted of only 11 people. In March 2013, the first graduates received uniform master’s degree diplomas in the field of veterinary medicine. Alumni from all over the world have been invited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their graduation at a special ceremony on Saturday, 24 June 2023 at the SGGW kampus. The occasion was attended and dignified by the presence of:

▪ prof. dr hab. Marcin Bańbura, Head of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine,
▪ prof. dr hab. Zdzisław Gajewski, Head of the Center for Translational Medicine
▪ dr hab. Agnieszka Jackowska-Tracz, Vice-Dean of Foreign-Language Studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,
▪ dr hab. Michal Godlewski, prof. SGGW, Vice-Dean of Foreign-Language Studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine 2016 – 2021
▪ prof. dr hab. Romuald Zabielski, Vice-Dean of Foreign-Language Studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine 2007 – 2016,
▪ Dr. Kobi Monovich, IMS International Medicine Studies representative,
▪ Dr. Piotr Kwieciński, Vice-President of the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE), representing veterinary associations from 38 European countries.
The event was hosted by the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. hab. Michał Skibniewski, who welcomed the guests gathered in the Crystal Hall and introduced the history of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine taught in English.
366 veterinarians have graduated from the Faculty in the last ten years. The total number of current English-speaking students amounts to 291. The largest group, about 65%, comes from Ireland; however, there are also students from South Africa, Zimbabwe, India, Sri Lanka and the Faroe Islands – said dr hab. Agnieszka Jackowska-Tracz.
