The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, appointed the Council for Agriculture and Rural Areas. It is made up of experts and practitioners from various fields related to the countryside and agriculture. Among the experts, apart from Rector Michał Zasada, there is also Professor Marian Podstawka from Economics and Finance.
The tasks of the appointed Council will include, in particular, developing a coherent strategy for agriculture and rural areas, reviewing legal solutions in this area, undertaking legislative initiatives, cooperating with government and local government institutions and building a space to talk about the problems of the Polish countryside. The Council is a consultative and advisory forum for the President of the Republic of Poland.
