4 | Road manager as a works investor | The road manager as an investor (contractor) of works related to the maintenance of the road infrastructure – “from defining the needs, through the tender for the design and its acceptance, to the supervision of works and their acceptance”. The issue of disappearing works to be covered. Road works acceptance procedures and their definition – analysis of detailed technical specifications. | 10 (10 + 0) | 2 |
5 | Road infrastructure management | Responsibilities of the road infrastructure manager. Threats in road infrastructure management (taxes, fees, construction violations). Records of internal roads with particular emphasis on forest roads. Marking of internal roads. Responsibility and traffic management on internal roads. Functioning of internal communication systems in the local road infrastructure – connections, signage and cooperation with other managers. Organization and design of connections. Providing access to internal roads for public traffic. Joint projects in the road infrastructure of two different managers. | 20 (20 + 0) | 3 |
6 | Technologies and materials in road construction | Aspects of road surface classification and their influence on the choice of technology and design solutions. Soil classification and recognition. Determination of land features and their field research. Soil and water conditions. Technologies for strengthening road substrates. Technologies and materials in road construction, with particular emphasis on roads with low and medium load – internal roads. Classification of road aggregates and their most important features in forest road construction. | 40 (25 + 15) | 5 |
7 | Field exercises | Comprehensive field exercises related to the scope of subjects (first semester – winter 15h) at the Rogów Forestry Facility – soil science issues, field research of road substrates, presentation of road aggregates, road maintenance. Exercises organized in the selected forest district, thematically covering the scope of studies (in the second summer semester 15 h) – road management, communication systems, road investments. | 20 (0 + 20) | 2 |
8 | Completion of studies, Final exam | The listener presents the selected issue in the form of a presentation (approx. 10-15 minutes), which is assessed by the group and the teacher. The topics of the issues are set at the beginning of the second semester and approved by the head of studies (electronic and paper versions of the study are attached to the documentation). At the end of the Study, students write a final exam (test) in the subjects discussed. | 15 (0 + 15) | 6 |
190 (110 + 80) | thirty |
Conditions for completing postgraduate studies "Road infrastructure in forests":
– obtaining credits in subjects provided for in the study program;
– presentation (paper) and electronic presentation (approx. 10-15 minutes), the subject of which is determined at the beginning of the second semester and approved by the Head of Studies.
– passing the final examination. At the end of their studies, students write a final exam (test) in the scope of the subjects they cover.
