Required documents Bachelor's degree and Master's degree (long cycle studies)
Documents are submitted only by candidates qualified for admission. On the date of qualification, these candidates will be given the status of “qualified”, then the candidates qualified for admission to the first cycle studies (Bachelor’s degree) shall provide a complete set of required documents on the date indicated in the recruitment calendar. Please do not send the documents before the announcement of the qualification results.
List of documents required from candidates for first-cycle and long-cycle studies at SGGW (studies in English):
- A personal questionnaire with a photo printed from the candidate’s account created in IRK – the questionnaire is available for download as a PDF file on the candidate’s account in the “Enrollment applications” tab in the “Documents and further steps” section (a valid identity document must be presented for verification when submitting – in the case of foreign candidates, a passport must be presented).
- A document entitling the candidate to apply for first-cycle studies and long-cycle Master’s degree programs:
Candidates holding a maturity certificate (high school diploma):– the original and a photocopy of the maturity certificate (the original certificate must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original),
– the original and a photocopy of the annex to the maturity certificate (the original document must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original) – applies to candidates who have improved the result of their high school exam in a given subject/subjects or have taken the high school exam in additional subjects they had not previously taken; the document should be submitted if it confirms the exam results in subjects considered in the qualification,
– the original and a photocopy of the certificate of high school exam results issued by the regional examination commission (the original document must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original), – applies to candidates who obtained the maturity certificate as a result of passing the high school exam before 2004 (results on the certificate expressed on a scale of 2-5 or 1-6), who have taken the high school exam in subjects considered in the qualification,
– the original and a photocopy of a professional diploma or a diploma confirming professional qualifications in the taught profession at the level of a technician, at level IV of the Polish Qualifications Framework (the original document must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original) – applies to candidates whose vocational exam result or qualification exam result in the profession is considered in the qualification process.
Candidates who took International Baccalaureate or European Baccalaureate exams:– the original and a photocopy of the IB diploma or EB diploma (the original certificate must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original),
– the original certificate of passing the International Baccalaureate exam containing information about the results issued by the school – applies to candidates who took the International Baccalaureate exam and are awaiting the issuance of the IB diploma,
– a written commitment to submit the original IB diploma (for making a certified copy by SGGW) or its notarized copy at a later date determined by the University Admissions Committee – under the penalty of the committee’s decision to refuse admission if the above commitment is not fulfilled – applies to candidates who took the International Baccalaureate exam and are awaiting the issuance of the IB diploma.
Candidates holding a certificate confirming completion of education in a foreign education system, confirming high school education and entitling them to apply for admission to higher education in the country of issue:– the original and a photocopy of the recognized foreign certificate by law or based on an international agreement or by administrative decision of the education superintendent (the original document must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original);
– the original and a photocopy of the education superintendent’s decision regarding the recognition of the foreign certificate as a document confirming high school education and entitling to apply for admission to higher education – applies to candidates holding a foreign certificate that is not recognized by law or based on an international agreement (the original document must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original),
If the candidate does not have the decision on the recognition of the certificate in Poland by the deadlines for submitting documents, they may submit the superintendent’s decision by September 26, 2024. In such a case, the candidate submits a declaration of the obligation to provide the education superintendent’s decision a template available for download. Candidates who do not submit the superintendent’s decision within the specified deadline will not be able to commence studies from October 1, 2024.
– the original and a photocopy of the legalization or apostille of the foreign certificate – applies to candidates holding a foreign certificate that is not recognized by law or based on an international agreement (the original document must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original),
– the original and a photocopy of the certificate confirming that the foreign high school certificate entitles to apply for admission to higher education in the country in whose education system it was issued – applies to candidates with a foreign certificate that is not recognized by law or based on an international agreement, unless the candidate has a decision from the education superintendent regarding its recognition (the original documents must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopies as true copies of the originals).
- Sworn translations into Polish of documents confirming education obtained in a foreign education system – applies to documents issued in a foreign language other than English.
- The original and a photocopy of the certificate of being awarded the title of laureate or finalist of central-level Olympiads or winner of a competition – applies to candidates using privileges resulting from holding the title of laureate or finalist of central-level Olympiads or winner of a competition honored at SGGW in a given academic year (the original document must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original).
- The original and a photocopy or notarized copy of the document confirming English language proficiency at the level of at least B2 – applies to candidates applying for admission to programs conducted in English (the original document must be presented for verification by SGGW to certify the photocopy as a true copy of the original).
- Certificate from an occupational physician (original) – applies to candidates qualified for admission to study programs for which such a certificate is required.
Referral for a medical examination by an occupational physician is available to candidates qualified for admission. To download a referral, the candidate logs into their IRK account. Access path: My account > Enrollment applications > Documents and further steps. A candidate who does not possess a certificate of no health contraindications to studying in a specific field on the day of document submission will be required to submit the certificate to the dean’s office of the relevant faculty by the end of the first full week of classes.
- Written declaration from both parents or legal guardians consenting to the minor’s enrollment in studies. If a parent/legal guardian is not present during document submission, their signature on the declaration must be certified by a notary public or Polish consul – applies to candidates who have not reached the age of 18 before the start of the semester for which the recruitment is conducted. - Document confirming a change of first name/last name (for inspection) – applies to candidates who have changed their first name and/or last name after obtaining a document confirming their education or language certificate.
Additional documents required from foreign candidates:
- Declaration of meeting the conditions for undertaking studies under specified conditions, the document is available for download as a PDF file on the candidate’s account in the ” Enrollment applications ” tab in the “Documents and further steps” section.
- Declaration of having health insurance during the period of studies, the document is available for download as a PDF file on the candidate’s account in the ” Enrollment applications ” tab in the “Documents and further steps” section.
- Original document confirming the assignment of a PESEL number (for inspection) – applies to foreign candidates who have been assigned a PESEL number by a Polish authority.
- Original decision on the scholarship by the Director of NAWA – applies to foreigners who are scholarship holders of the National Agency for Academic Exchange.
