Prof. dr hab. Inż. Alojzy Szymański with the MEiN award for lifetime scientific achievements
Among the 18 winners of the lifetime achievement award, prof. dr hab. Inż. Alojzy Szymański, Rector of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in 2008-2016.
This is a prestigious category in which awards are received by outstanding personalities of Polish science and higher education for their many years of research, teaching and organizational activity. The winners are people who are distinguished by their activity in the scientific and academic spheres – from scientific and didactic care over the research staff, through research activity, to entity management and organizational activity.
Area of scientific research prof. dr hab. Inż. Aloysiego Szymanski focuses on the following directions:
- development of weak soils deformation modeling methods with the use of weak soils strengthening,
- improving the methodology of research and selection of parameters for the calculation of the settlement of hydrotechnical and land structures,
- development of methods for assessing and controlling the technical condition of hydrotechnical structures,
- improving the methodology of recognizing the geological structure of the subsoil with the use of “in situ” tests to determine the subsoil parameters necessary in land and underground construction.
