Partnership in the educational system – experiences from the implementation of the Junior-Edu-Żywienie JEŻ program
Healthy from the start
Dietary beaviors developed in childhood may persist into adulthood.
Therefore, lifestyle factors should be implemented for children and their families from birth.
Thus, the Ministry of Education and Science has prepared a nutritional education program for primary school students known as JEŻ.
Obesity and overweight – real risk
The problem of overweight and obese children and adolescents now constitutes a serious and growing health concern. The issue resulted in educational activities undertaken by students, school staff and parents.
The program supports activities carried out under the Narodowy Program Wsparcia Uczniów po Pandemii [National Student Support Program after the Pandemic] by Ministry of Education and Science.
It covers 2,210 Polish primary schools and involves nutrition education training for school staff.
Dietitian and Nutritionist
The program is implemented by experts from the Institute of Human Nutrition Sciences, SGGW and the National Institute of Public Health (PZH) – National Research Institute.
