New English-language studies: Modern engineering in water management
The purpose of the project is to improve the competitiveness of Kazakhstan and Poland in the field of education and science in the field of engineering and water management. In a situation of progressive climate change, graduates having knowledge related to the problems of water in agricultural landscapes and protected areas (Poland) as well as in areas with dry reservoirs (Kazakhstan), become sought-after experts around the world. Scheduled activities are aimed at:
- increasing student mobility,
- participation of visiting professors in conducting classes,
- study visits of the staff in Poland and Kazakhstan,
- training for staff and students, and extending the current study offer, including promoting them.
As a result of these activities, the implementation of joint second-cycle studies was planned as the main result of the project. The project will result in increasing students’ competences in the field of environmental engineering, in particular in the specialization focused on knowledge and practical skills in the field of sustainable and integrated water management and modern water engineering. Students will improve their intercultural, linguistic and interpersonal competences. The tools for achieving this goal will be joint field and laboratory classes, classes conducted with the use of distance learning techniques and methods, and the participation of world-class specialists in conducting the classes.
