Medal of Michał Oczapowski for the Faculty of Horticulture
On 15 December 2022, the awarding ceremony of the Faculty of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences for 2022 took place in the Erazm Majewski Hall, at the Staszic Palace in Warsaw. By Resolution No. 1/2022, the Presidium of the Chapter of the Medal of Michał Oczapowski of 25 August 2022, the Faculty of Horticulture, Warsaw University of Life Sciences was recognized with the Medal of Michał Oczapowski.
The medal of Michał Oczapowski (established in 1988) is the highest distinction awarded to individuals and institutions, such as universities, scientific institutions, scientific journals, that contributed to the development of science in the fields of agriculture, forestry, veterinary medicine and applied biological sciences. The medal was established to commemorate Michał Oczapowski, an outstanding professor of the University of Vilnius, founder of the Agronomic Institute in Marymont (Instytut Gospodarstwa Wiejskiego i Leśnictwa), and a founder of agricultural sciences in Poland.
