Mateusz Niedbała is the SGGW Academic Spokesperson
The SGGW academic community has its Academic Spokesperson/ Ombudsman. This role is held by dr inż. Mateusz Niedbała.
The Academic Spokesperson is an independent and neutral person and the SGGW staff and students can direct any question to him regarding matters concerning the university and its community in an informal and confidential manner.
The role of the SGGW Academic Spokesperson is to support staff and students in resolving conflicts and ensuring that all members of the academic community are treated fairly and justly. The ombudsman function is independent of the management structure.
The activities of the SGGW Academic Spokesperson are based on the International Ombudsman Association (IOA) standards of practice: independence, impartiality/neutrality, informality, and confidentiality.
The Academic Spokesperson can:
- Listen, diagnose the problem, and help to solve it;
- Support in resolving conflicts;
- Recommend mediation and facilitate its initiation phase;
- Provide information about the rules and legal regulations applicable at SGGW;
- Assist in getting information and clarifying matters within the appropriate unit;
- Provide the information to the university’s authorities.
If the reported issue is beyond the Academic Spokesperson’s jurisdiction, they will indicate the appropriate institution or person responsible for handling such matters.
