Description of direction
Gastronomy and hospitality is a field of study with a practical profile, implemented according to a unique program developed by academic teachers in cooperation with enterprises
the catering and hotel services sector. An important element of education are apprenticeships carried out by students in domestic and foreign catering and hotel facilities as well as the participation of high-class specialists:
– practitioners in the implementation of didactic activities.
The study program includes m.in. the following subjects:
basics of gastronomic technology, basics of hotel industry, Polish regional and national cuisines, designing new dishes, consumer service in gastronomy and hotel industry, technical and technological equipment in gastronomy and hotel industry, trends in hotel industry, techniques and technologies in gastronomy and catering, technological design in plants catering and hospitality, technological systems in food production, the basics of finance and accounting, business plan in gastronomy and hospitality, marketing of services, management and organization in gastronomy and hospitality, food quality and safety management in gastronomy, consumer behavior in the service market, consumer protection in the market services, nutrition planning in gastronomy. Depending on their interests, students can broaden their knowledge within optional subjects directing the future professional profile in the field of management in gastronomy and hotel industry or in the field of technology and nutrition, e.g. dietary catering.
Career prospects
Graduates have the knowledge and skills necessary to work in the catering and hospitality industry
various positions, both operational and managerial, incl. w:
• catering establishments, including open mass catering establishments (e.g. restaurants, bars, canteens) and closed mass catering establishments (e.g. hospitals, care and educational institutions, nurseries, kindergartens and schools),
• catering companies,
• hotel facilities,
Graduates are also prepared to undertake business activities in the field of gastronomy and hotel management.
