Furniture Technology

Furniture is a field of study whose program has been designed by the Faculty of Wood Technology in cooperation with representatives of the furniture industry in Poland. Students learn about the specifics of materials used in the furniture industry, the latest construction and design trends, and use modern software not only for design, but also for operating machines and CNC devices. Furniture-making graduates are specialists with well-established knowledge and comprehensive preparation in the field of design, production planning, manufacturing and distribution in the furniture industry, as well as work organization and business management. They have the skills necessary to work in enterprises with organizational structures of various scales (from micro-enterprises to centralized multinationals), as well as in individual economic activities.

IN COOPERATION WITH INDUSTRY

Furniture industry is one of the strongest branches of the Polish industry, bringing together over 27 thousand. economic entities that often lack qualified staff. Currently, the industry employs over 160 thousand. people. The furniture industry has been recognized as a priority for the economic development of Poland and requires strong support also from higher education, providing specialized education.

Furniture-making graduates are prepared to work in furniture industry plants, companies and sales representative offices, design offices, research institutes, and vocational education. Students are covered by a paid internship program at the largest companies in the furniture industry (including IKEA Industry, Fabryki Mebli Forte SA, Fabryki Mebli Wójcik, Mardom Pro, Mebloform). Participation in the program takes place through a combination of full-time study and professional work in a selected enterprise. Interns get the opportunity to improve their professional competences. 80% of interns received a job offer after their internship!
