Description of direction
The studies are of a technical and natural nature nature. Graduates have advanced knowledge and practical skills in food production, storage and distribution.
They are prepared to work in various positions in the agri-food industry, which is the second largest economic sector in the EU.
The study programme includes m.in. Issues:
• product design, technological and manufacturing process,
• comprehensive assessment of the technological suitability of raw materials,
• processing, preservation and storage of food,
• shaping and evaluating the quality of food products,
• analysis and elimination of food safety risks,
• machinery, process engineering and production organisation,
• knowledge and interpretation of the chemical, biochemical and physical processes that accompany the processing and storage of food,
• the principles of proper nutrition,
• food marketing and human resources management.
A diverse and wide range of optional subjects enables students to develop their individual interests. Students undergo apprenticeships in Poland and abroad, they also have the opportunity to complete interesting diploma theses in cooperation with the industry and according to their own idea:
–m.in. in the fields of biotechnology and food microbiology, food quality assessment, food engineering and production organisation, technology and evaluation of various food products. Students acquire and expand their knowledge in the field m.in:
• biotechnology and food microbiology,
• food engineering and production organisation,
• food quality assessments,
• meat technology and evaluation,
• milk technology and evaluation,
• technology and evaluation of fruit, vegetables and cereals,
• technology and evaluation of fats and food concentrates.
