Description of direction
The study program covers issues related to companion and wild animal husbandry, animal ecology and zoopsychology. Students gain knowledge in the field of animal husbandry, animal maintenance and nutrition, biodiversity, in situ and ex situ conservation of endangered species.
The study program includes:
1st degree studies: chemistry, metabolomics, zoology, anatomy and physiology of animals, nutrition of companion and wild animals, population management, restitution and protection of animals, breeding, maintenance and welfare of companion and wild animals, zoopsychology.
SECOND CYCLE STUDIES (depending on the chosen path): experimentation, biosecurity in animal husbandry, animal population monitoring, genetic diagnostics, ecotoxicology, behavioral therapies and communication in the animal world.
During their studies, students complete apprenticeships in:
• wild animal breeding centers,
• private breeding of companion animals,
• zoos and wildlife parks in Poland and abroad,
• animal shelters,
• landscape and national parks,
• animal farms,
• wildlife rehabilitation centers,
• scientific and research institutes,
