Characteristics of the Postgraduate Studies “Road Infrastructure in Forests”

Purpose and scope of studies
The aim of the studies is to enable participants to systematize and expand their knowledge, as well as to acquire new skills in the field of broadly understood issues of managing the transport infrastructure of internal roads. Within the studies, the legal issues of managing internal roads and organizing investments and maintenance works related to roads will be taught. The scope of the discussed issues:
- Planning of spatial systems of forest road networks.
- Road infrastructure – legal basis.
- Elements of road documentation.
- Road manager as a works investor.
- Road infrastructure management.
- Technologies and materials in road construction.
The studies are intended for people involved in the management of internal roads (managers or owners), in particular employees of forest districts and internal control inspectors of the State Forests National Forest Holding. The thematic scope of the studies is also useful for employees of the Bureaus for Forest Management and Geodesy. The studies can also expand the knowledge of local administration in the aspect of considering proceedings regarding forest roads. The formal requirement is to have a university graduation diploma, at least the first degree (engineer, bachelor).
Classes in the form of lectures, small-group classes and field exercises will be conducted by lecturers from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, specialists – practitioners from State Forests National Forest Holding, road laboratory, and designers cooperating with road administrators.
Duration of studies
The studies will be carried out in two semesters from 1 October 2020 to 30 August 2021. 4 conventions per semester (25 hours / convention) will be held from Friday to Sunday.
Place: Warsaw, LZD Rogów (possibility of organizing field exercises).

Fees:
– PLN 2,200 per a semester, PLN 4,400 per a year.
– The tuition fee does not include commuting, accommodation and board costs, and fees related to the issuance of a graduation certificate.
