‘From discovery to implementation – utilizing genomics for plant breeding’, the inauguration of the Summer School under the Study ELLSwhere program
The summer school aims to demonstrate how genetic research and the identification of new genes help drive plant breeding innovations and biotechnology. The participants of the summer school were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, dr. hab. Marta Mendel, prof. SGGW, and the opening lecture titled ‘Genome editing – an ultimate tool in plant breeding?’ was delivered by prof. Marcin Filipecki. The inauguration was also attended by a representative of the Euroleague Student Association (ELSA), Alicja Gniadzik, who introduced the idea and activities of ELSA. The course is intended for master’s and doctoral students. Participants include representatives of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), University of Hohenheim, SLU Alnarp, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, USAMV Cluj Napoca (Universitatea de Științe Agricole și Medicină Veterinară (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca), Wageningen University and Research, University of Manitoba and SGGW. |
