First online meeting of the authorities of Bohai University and Warsaw University of life Sciences
On the 22nd of April, the first online meeting of the authorities of Bohai University (BU) and Warsaw University of life Sciences took place. The Chinese University was represented by the President Zhao Hui, Vice-President for Internationalization and the representatives of the College of Food Science and Engineering. SGGW was represented by the Rector – prof. dr hab. Miachał Zasada, Vice-Rector for international cooperation – dr hab. Marta Mendel and the Deans of the Faculty of Human Nutrition – prof. dr hab. Dominika Guzek and the Faculty of Food Technology – dr hab. Rafał Wołosiak. The meeting was organized to celebrate the approval of joint study programme by the Chinese Ministry responsible for higher education. The first-cycle degree studies (Bachelor) in Food Technology and Human Nutrition are assumed to be the first step in BU-SGGW cooperation which shall be soon extended and include broader study offer as well as collaboration in the field of research and development. The initiation and development of the cooperation has been supported by the Polish-Chinese Foundation for Academic Cooperation.
Bohai University (BU), which was established in February, 1950, is a comprehensive university administered by Liaoning Provincial Government. BU is in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, China. Jinzhou is a seaside city with long history and cultural tradition. BU has established 19 sub-level colleges administering 48 programs for bachelor’s degree. There are now more than 21,900 full-time postgraduates and undergraduates at Bohai University and more than 1,200 professional teachers.
