Commemorative plaque unveiling to commemorate Professor Antoni Rutkowski
A commemorative plaque has been unveiled in honor of the outstanding scientist, prof. Antoni Rutkowski.
There are people in the university community who are remembered as someone whose values go far beyond the limits of their personal lives. They go down in history as creators, guides and teachers of new generations. I am very glad that today’s naming ceremony of the teaching hall and unveiling a commemorative plaque in honor of Professor Antoni Rutkowski combines old and new times and recalls Professor Rutkowski’s connections with our University as a teacher, educator of scientific and research staff, and above all, a scientist. bringing pride to the faculty and the university, said Prof. dr hab. Kazimierz Tomala, Vice-Rector for Development during the commemorative ceremony.
Professor Antoni Rutkowski is a co-founder of food science in Poland, a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, an organizer of many food technology staff training units in Poznań, Olsztyn and Warsaw, a founder and a long-term president of the Polish Food Technologists’ Society, the editor of local and foreign scientific publications and journals.
Professor Rutkowski is also an author of scientific publications, books, patents, implementation research and academic papers for national and international conferences.
He was conferred with an honorary doctorate [doctor honoris causa] by the Poznań University of Life Sciences, the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.
The guests were welcomed by prof. dr hab.Mirosław Słowiński, director of the Institute of Food Sciences. Professor Słowiński presented the biography of Prof. Antoni Rutkowski.
The commemorative plaque was unveiled by Prof. Rutkowski’s daughters.
