This year, the 45th edition of the Agricultural Knowledge and Skills competition is addressed to the graduates of the high schools, technical schools and 1st and 2nd degree industry schools. 

Since 2015, the Science Competition has been organized in 11 topic blocks:

• Plant Production;
• Livestock Production;
• Horticulture;
• Agricultural Mechanization;
• Environmental Protection and Engineering;
• Food Technology;
• Gastronomy;
• Agribusiness;
• Forestry;
• Veterinary;
• Landscape Architecture

There are three stages of the Science Competition: the school stage (in October), the regional stage (in April) and the central stage (in May). It is a public event, registered at  the Ministry of Education and Science and supervised by the ministry. Thanks to the competition, over 3,600 students have already received university acceptance.

The main organizer of the Competition is the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, supported by eight universities with agricultural faculties. The content-related supervision over the competition is provided by the Main Committee of the Science Competition.

Such a mass event cannot take place in one place only, so this year, on 8-9 April 2022, the regional stage of the Agricultural Knowledge and Skills Science Competition will be held on the SGGW campus, dedicated for students from the Mazowieckie and Łódź voivodeships as well as from other voivodeships, depending on the topic block. During this edition, our university is also the organizer of the central stage, which will take place on 27-28 May 2022, with the participation of the youth from all over the country. 

In recent years, about 25,000 Polish students took their chances at the school stage, and about 200 students from 50 schools are to compete in the regional stage at our university. On the other hand, about 220 students selected from all districts take part in the finals, and they are accompanied at each stage by about 100 educators – teachers.

SCHEDULE

The adopted program of the qualifying rounds is as follows: 

04 April 2022 – arrival of participants and registration from 8.30 to 9.00 a.m.  at the Crystal Hall,  Nowoursynowska 166.

9.15 a.m. the opening ceremony of the Science Competition  in the Crystal Hall

10.00 a.m. – written exam (at various faculties’ facilities)

11.30 a.m. – 03.00 p.m. – practical tasks (at various faculties’ facilities)

02.00 p.m. – 04.00 p.m. – lunch for participants at DS. “Limba” (student dormitory)

05.00 p.m. – 06.30 p.m. the closing ceremony of the Science Competition, diplomas and prizes awarding at the Crystal Hall.
