International Candidates
- Personal questionnaire (printout based on the registration form from the Candidate Service System).
- Certified by SGGW: a copy of the graduation diploma (until receipt of the diploma – certificate of graduation with the diploma number, diploma grade, and date of the diploma examination) or the original diploma obtained outside of Poland, which entitles the Candidate to continue education at a university in the country of its release, in accordance with the provisions of art. 191a (1) paragraphs 3 and 4, the law on Higher Education or entitlement to continue education on the basis of an international agreement, or has been recognized as equivalent to the relevant Polish diploma through Nostrification (recognition) procedure.
- A photocopy of the Diploma Supplement, the official transcript containing the list of grades and subjects for the entire course of study (the original must be presented).
- A photocopy of the document confirming the knowledge of the Polish language (the original must be presented).
- Declaration for meeting the conditions to study free of charge (applies to candidates for full-time studies in Polish, who are entitled to study free of charge, the statement is available in the Candidate Service System).
- A document confirming the entitlement to undertake and pursue studies free of charge (applies to candidates for full-time studies in Polish who have a document entitling them to study on a free-of-charge basis, the document must be presented when submitting the documents).
- A valid passport or other document confirming the candidate’s identity (the document must be presented for inspection when submitting the documents).
- Certificate from an occupational medicine doctor (applies to candidates qualified for admission to the fields of study for which this type of certificate is required).
- A declaration of having health insurance for the period of education in Poland e.g. a health insurance policy or a European Health Insurance Card .
- Current color photo on paper, compliant with the requirements for issuing ID cards, in the format 35 mm (width) by 45 mm (height) and the same digital photo attached to the online registration form, at a resolution of 236 x 295 pixels.
- A document certifying Polish origin (if the candidate has such a document, he is required to present the original).
- Candidates for 2nd-degree studies (graduates of Polish universities) waiting for a diploma to be issued submit a “certificate for candidates for 2nd-degree studies at SGGW” containing information about completed studies (A TEMPLATE certificate for candidates who have completed 1st degree or long-cycle studies at universities other than SGGW ).
- Document confirming having a PESEL number (applies to candidates who have been assigned such a number in the Polish office, the document should be presented when submitting the documents).
Documents confirming the right to study on a free of charge basis
- important Pole’s card ;
- decision on statements of Polish origin ;
- permanent residence card in Poland;
- long-term resident of the European Union residence card issued on the territory of Poland;
- residence card with refugee status posted in Poland;
- residence card granting temporary protection on the territory of Poland;
- subsidiary protection residence card granted on the territory of Poland; a temporary residence card is issued on the territory of Poland in connection with the circumstances referred to in Art. 159 sec. 1 or art. 186 paragraph 1 point 3 or 4 of the Act of 12 December 2013. on foreigners (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 35), the card granting decision must be presented to check the legal basis;
- a passport or other identity document confirming the citizenship of a Member State of the European Union, Swiss Conference or a Member State of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and a document confirming the fact of residence in the territory of Poland;
- certificate confirming knowledge of Polish as a foreign language referred to in Art. 11a paragraph. 2 of the Act of October 7, 1999. on the Polish language (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1480, as amended), at least at the C1 language proficiency level, issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language http://c certatpolski.pl/
- marriage certificate with a Polish citizen, civil status certificate confirming the fact of being an ascendant or descendant of a Polish citizen and a document confirming the fact of residence in the territory of Poland.
Confirmation of knowledge of the Polish language
A foreigner with documented knowledge of the Polish language may be admitted to the qualification procedure for studies conducted in Polish. Documents confirming the knowledge of the Polish language are:
- certificate of completion of a one-year course preparing to study in Polish in the units indicated by the National Agency for Academic Exchange, among others:

- a high school graduation certificate or a graduation diploma with the Polish language of instruction,
- a document confirming passing the exam in Polish at the minimum B2 level, issued by a language school.
